Fun Run Information

Dear entrant,

Firstly, a big thank you for entering the ‘Round Table Run For It’ fun run at
Greenhead Park in Huddersfield. This is the second time that Brighouse Round
Table has organised the men-only 5-kilometre charity fun run to raise funds for
and awareness of cancers that affect men. Last year’s event was a success and
raised over £6000 for Cancer Research.

Why?
We always felt a bit left out standing on the side lines as we supported our wives
and partners at the women-only Race for Life events over the past few years. We
thought it would be good if there were a similar event for men to give us the
chance to raise money too.

Where will the sponsorship money go?
All sponsorship money raised will go to Cancer Research UK. In the UK, a man
is diagnosed with cancer roughly every 4 minutes. Prostate cancer is the most
common cancer in men. Testicular cancer is relatively rare, but is the most
common cancer in men aged 15 to 45. The money raised will help to support
Cancer Research UK’s vital work to prevent, diagnose and treat men’s cancers.

What do I need to do now?
Everything you need on the day is in the pack included with this letter. The pack
contains your race number, back sign, rules for the fun run and your sponsorship
form. Ask your friends, family, work colleagues - and anyone else you know – to
sponsor you. Feel free to use the back sign to show the special reason why
you’re taking part in the fun run.

Do I have to run round the course?
No! You can run, walk, or a combination of the two. Men of all ages and fitness
levels are welcome. Any participants under 18 years of age must be supervised
by a responsible adult.

Training sessions
Kirklees based Sport4Life is offering training sessions for men who want to do
some training before the event. For more details, please contact Mark

Sponsorship money

Return your sponsorship money with the enclosed sponsorship form. We can
only accept cheques. Please make cheques payable to ‘Cancer Research UK’.
There are two ways to do this
· Bring your cheque to the Round Table tent on 22 July. This can be post
dated to allow you time to collect your sponsorship money
· Post your cheque to “Round Table Run For It, PO Box 80, BRIGHOUSE.
HD6 3WB” after you have collected your sponsorship money. This should
be done before Friday 28 September 2007

What time does the event start?
There will be a warm up session starting at approximately 10.45. The fun run
starts at 11.00. Remember to get there early!
